Doyac Castle, located in the municipality of Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne just above Saint-Estèphe , is the property of Max Pourtales and place of his conversion. Indeed, before winemaker, he worked in the financial markets in Germany and France, while his wife was doing theater in New York. Three months after their marriage, they come in Bordeaux where Max began studying viticulture and oenology. After his arms castle Malleret he bought the castle in 1998 and almost 34 hectares in one piece.
Since then, he has renovated and modernized places to optimize the production of wine. He also planted a lot of merlot in a vineyard Spent viticulture. In the vineyard as the winery, Max Pourtales is always listening to its soil, the plant and its environment to work then with respect, fairness and application.
Eric Boissenot, renowned winemaker, has been selected to advise the vinification.
Haut-Medoc is the large southern section of the greater Medoc district of Bordeaux in south-western France and also the name of the appellation that covers the vineyards here. It accounts for two-thirds of the Medoc peninsula and produces more fine wine per acre than almost anywhere else in the world.
