Villa Puccini Toscana Gold Label IGT
Villa Puccini Toscano Red “Normale” is made only in good vintages. For example there no bottling for either the 1996 or 1998. Villa Puccini “Gold Label” is produced only from the best fruit in outstanding vintages, such as 1997 (There will be a 1999). It is a more powerful, structured red wine, emboldened by the judicious use of 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. This aristocratic varietal, called locally the “Uva Francesca,” has a tendency to dominate other grapes. The Italians say that adding Cabernet Sauvignon to a blend is like when your mother-in-law comes to live with you. You give her a small room in the corner, but soon she takes over the entire house! Villa Puccini “Gold Label” is made from coastal Tuscan fruit, is aged in small oak casks and further refined in the bottle. It will develop for five years or more, if you have the patience.
