Rioja is Spain’s most prestigious and recognised wine region, with a great reputation the world over. Rioja wines enjoy great consumer loyalty. Rioja was the first region in Spain to reach D.O.Ca. status (Qualified Designation of Origin), the European Union’s highest quality classification. In Rioja, the Atlantic and Mediterranean climates interact, bringing mild temperatures and sufficient rainfall, on soils that are ideal for vines, where every type of texture and composition makes each vineyard unique.
Produced from Tempranillo, a native grape variety, Viña Cumbrero wines have a markedly fruity character. The grapes come from vines that have grown in this land for more than 15 years, bush trained (open “vaso” pruned rather than “goblet”) and dry-farmed without irrigation. Viña Cumbrero wines offer pure regional authenticity and are fruity with a balanced touch of oak.
